At Love Counter, privacy is not a feature we added later. It is how the tool was designed from the start. This policy explains what information is involved when you use Love Counter and how it is handled.

The Short Version

Love Counter runs entirely in your web browser. The date, time, and names you enter into the counter are never transmitted to us or to any third party. There is no account, no login, and no server that receives your relationship details.

Information You Enter

When you use the counter, you may enter a start date, an optional time, and two names. This information is used only to calculate and display your count on your own screen. To make your return visit easier, these values are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. You can remove them at any time by pressing the reset button or clearing your browser data.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information such as your browser type, device type, and general region for security and performance purposes. This information is not linked to anything you type into the counter.

Cookies and Local Storage

Love Counter uses your browser's local storage to remember your last counter. It is stored on your device and is not a tracking cookie. If we introduce analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent.

Third Party Services

We load fonts from Google Fonts to keep the site looking consistent. Your browser requests these files directly from Google, which may involve your IP address as part of a normal web request.

If you choose a language other than English from the language switcher in the header, the page is translated by Google Translate. In that case the visible text of the page you are reading is sent to Google so it can be translated, and your language choice is remembered in a cookie named googtrans on your device. This only happens once you actively pick a language; English is served with no translation request at all. The dates and names you type into the counter are still calculated entirely in your browser and are never uploaded, whichever language you are using.

Children's Privacy

Love Counter is a general audience keepsake tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

Because your counter data lives only on your device, you are always in control. Clearing it is as simple as pressing reset or clearing your browser's site data. You can also use the tool in a private or incognito window if you prefer nothing to be remembered.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Love Counter after an update means you accept the revised policy.
